The telescope experience was magical—the sky here is so clear, and you really feel like you’re connecting with the cosmos. However, I felt that the pricing structure (glamping vs RV vs tent) could be clearer. Some of the amenities like restrooms, WiFi, and shade were hit or miss depending on which habitat you stayed in.

ABC Softwares

I was excited by the idea of exploring craters and doing rover adventures. The website advertised rovers, stargazing, and “Interstellar Adventures.” Mars NM In practice, the dirt roads were difficult for smaller vehicles, and a few of the themed features seemed more “in development” than fully operational. The view and ambiance made up for a lot, though.

Staying in one of the solar-powered glamping pods was surreal. The desert around Mars, New Mexico feels otherworldly. The staff were helpful, and the starry nights—with their 30-inch Dobsonian telescope—were unforgettable. Some of the amenities were basic, but for the price and the theme, it’s worth it.
